Federal Government Limits the use of Robo-Callers for Collections on Student Debt and Income Taxes

A law sneakily passed last year expanded the opportunity for the government to contact borrowers using robo-callers to collect on federal student loans and income taxes. I applaud the Federal Communications Commission for passing new rules that limit the use of this tactic to three calls per month. The new FCC rules also limit the government to contacting only the borrower rather than the borrower's family.
